A Gap in Chiropractic Care Affects Your Car Accident Claim

Minor damages or a highly damaged vehicle does not determine how much your body have been affected. A gap in chiropractic examination leaves room for injuries to develop or worsen over time. Early documentation gets you on the road to recovery faster and gives you an opportunity to have a solid case to present to the insurance company for necessary compensation or substitution for your everyday interruptions.

Personal injury claims without proper documentation may lead to misinterpretations by the insurance company to include invalidation of your actual injuries. In return, you may not receive the full value for your claim.

At ChiroCare Rehabilitation Center, we provide full assistance with your car accident claim with all the necessary documentation bases to ensure your claim is presented in the best possible way. Protecting your interest and necessary compensation to get you back on your feet. Contact us today and let ChiroCare Rehabilitation Center manage your case.

  • Disc Herniation

Our rubbery spinal discs between the vertebrae act like shock absorbers for the spine when you move around. But when there is too much pressure on the disc, it is squeezed from between the discs, or herniated, and it can cause a great deal of pain. You may experience extreme back pain or numbness that doesn't go away. Typically, herniated discs occur in the lumbar (lower back) area of the spine.

Different situations can cause herniated discs. A hard fall on your tailbone or lifting heavy items puts pressure on nerves in the low back and causes pain to shoot down the legs. These injuries could even cause permanent nerve damage. Whiplash is more likely to cause herniated discs in the thoracic (middle) or cervical (upper back or neck) areas of the back and may cause terrible pain every time you move. Aging and vertebrae subluxation can also cause herniated discs.

If you have been in an accident and have continued numbness, or you are experiencing extreme, sharp pain in your back, contact ChiroCare Rehabilitation Center today. We will work with you to develop a plan of treatment to help you regain life without pain.

  • Sciatica

The sciatic nerves extend from the lower spine, through the buttocks and the leg, and end in the foot. When the sciatic nerve is inflamed, you may have numbness and tingling that run along the path of the sciatic nerve. Usually, you will experience this on one side. Your symptoms can be mild to severe and may include burning, sharp pain and electric jolts to the area.

Sciatica, the inflammation of the sciatic nerve, can be caused by:

    • Herniated discs
    • Bone spurs on vertebrae
    • Being overweight
    • Sedentary lifestyle
    • Damage from diseases such as diabetes
    • Jobs in which you lift heavy items, twist your back or drive for long periods

The team at ChiroCare Rehabilitation Center has ten years of experience treating sciatica. If you are experiencing symptoms of sciatica, call us today. We’ll evaluate your situation and develop an action plan to help you begin to feel better.

  • Whiplash

Whiplash, often caused in car accidents, may not be noticeable right away but eventually can begin to cause extreme pain. Whiplash varies and can depend on the position of your headrest. Headrests set in lower positions can actually make whiplash worse and cause extreme pain.

Research indicates that chiropractic care is a safe, effective way to treat whiplash. The team at ChiroCare Rehabilitation Center has a decade of experience treating whiplash. If you are experiencing pain following an accident, we can evaluate your situation and develop a plan of action. It’s a good idea to come in for evaluation, even if you aren’t experiencing any pain right after the accident. Call us today to set up an appointment.

  • Muscle Spasms

Muscle spasms are involuntary muscle contractions caused by injury or overuse that result in a muscle imbalance. Muscle spasms may feel different depending on the area of the body where they occur but often will feel like a tender lump in the muscle that may radiate pain. Common symptoms include tightness, pain, and reduced range of motion. Muscle spasms can cause muscles to shorten, which can decrease the range of motion and increase the chance of re-injury.

Using ice immediately after noticing the problem is important; reducing inflammation is key at the beginning of care. The experienced team at ChiroCare Rehabilitation Center can effectively treat muscle spasms. Treatment can include using electric current to reduce inflammation and Kinesio tape for support.

  • Muscle Sprains and Strains

Muscle strains and sprains involve the soft tissue and cause pain, swelling and decreased range of motion. A sprain occurs when ligaments are overstretched, causing weakening or tearing. Strains refer to overstretched muscles or tendons often referred to as “pulled” muscles or tendons.

Strains are usually the result of injury from trauma, like falling, twisting an ankle or overuse. You may be able to modify your activity if you have a minor strain, but major strains which may need up to 6 weeks to heal. Sprains are typically caused by an injury. They range from a mild stretch to a complete tear. Shoulders, backs, knees and ankles are common areas for strains; ankles, fingers and wrists are often sprained.

You may have pain, notice less range of motion, or may you be unable to bear weight. Chiropractic care from ChiroCare Rehabilitation Center can offer treatment that will reduce the impact of a strain or sprain by promoting healing and rehabilitating the injury by strengthening the surrounding muscles. Contact us immediately if you think you have a strain or sprain.
